No Bounce back…

You can’t deny the fact that for every little thing you do, you’ll be expecting some thing good in return. But I just realized, it will also depend on which and whom you’ve given it. Just like a ball, if you throw it and it hits the wall, expect a TRIPLE BOUNCE BACK… But if it hits the water, it flows away leaving you wondering what went wrong…

A serious hit within.

A Good Conversation with a New Friend…

I got a new friend. His name is Don and he lives in USA. He seems to be a good person but I can see that he’s not happy with his life, simply because he doesn’t have someone nowadays. He brags about not being able to be with some one special during holidays. Not being able to have some one to have and hold, and to cry with, or just someone special to talk to in his every day life. He basically has everything today, house, car, money, a ten year old son, but no special some one. I can see that being alone as what he told me, is the hardest that you could have. He keeps on looking for some one but because he is not getting any younger, almost all persons just don’t take him too seriously, just takes his money and after some time,.. gone… I know he’s a nice man but he also needs to understand that there are just few things in life that he should be thankful for. And as a friend, I also want him to be appreciative of what he has and be completely happy… In our written conversations I told him:

“Hi Don, how are you? I can say that you’re really a very good person. I know that being alone in life is very difficult, and maybe the hardest that you could have. It’s sad to hear that you’re not happy with your life because you don’t have some one special with you.  You know what, even at my young age, I don’t understand why I can’t seem to find someone who certainly deserves me as well because almost every one in my generation doesn’t take it too seriously. Others told me Im a good catch, beautiful, kind, and im an accountant too, but most of them often avoid the idea as well thinking either i’m a little intimidating or that I’m just too good for them. I got suitors like about ten consecutive years and I didn’t say yes to anyone just because I followed my dreams first. Now I’m already an accountant and even so it came as a hindrance for others to thinks that i’m just too over the top for them… Isn’t it unfair??? I got some one I’ve loved before..  A LOVE THAT GOT AWAY.. simply because I just can’t ask him to stay…I told u I chose 100% studying and I left him. We got to be with each other after a year and he told me he still likes me. To date, he’s in a far place also because of his studies. And we can always be very supportive with that someone we care for, right?  He split out of my life and we’ll never be able to see each other any more. That’s a mutual decision but our good relationship won’t last. We’re more of a friend to each other and we’ll always remain as good friends even so. Nowadays, I believe he already has his LOVE, that’s some thing that I also asked of him before he left, because we don’t want any one to suffer just because time is not meant for us. And that’s just what I needed, to know he’s going to be happy, a drastic decision. And right now, I just can’t find some one who’ll tell me that he’s not afraid to try, and to fight for me, simply because I also let others passed by me. It’s so unfair right?  So you see in the ASPECT OF LOVE.. NOTHING IS FAIR… we just have to be happy in every single thing that we have right now. I hope you find that one special person that will truly make you happy and loved…”

Selamat Datang, Archie!

Arch Angels played the guessing game on when would Archie arrived in Indonesia. And apparently, they guessed right! They really are true Arch Angels!

Day 1: At the Airport

Internet has become a best friend to Arch Angels, because from Twitter and Facebook, they estimated Archie’s arrival to Indonesia. Since Thursday (7/14) morning, they had been all ready and waiting at the airport. Arch Angels arm themselves with posters, cameras, until a big banner. Some of them were also wearing shirts with Archie’s picture on them, like Nurul (grade 12, SMK 51 Jakarta) and Siffa (grade 12, SMA 4 Tangerang). Moreover, Siffa made her own Archie t-shirt 2 months ago. “This was actually for a school task. I looked for the picture in the internet, screen printed it, and re-painted it,” said Siffa who left home at 6 in the morning to welcome Archie at the airport.

Super Sweet

It had been pretty long and Archie was still nowhere to be seen. At around 2 pm Jakarta time, the Archie band members started to walk out. There were Beau (monitor), Steven J (drums), Mark (keyboard), Ben (bass), and Dave (guitar). They were kind of shocked with the enthusiasm of the fans. They even taped the moment the camera.

The united “choir” of Arch Angels turned into a hysterical screaming when Archie walked out of the arrival gate 2D at exactly 2.30 pm. Even though Archie was tightly guarded by the airport security, Arch Angels still rushed to him, asked for his autograph on posters or books.

“Finally I can meet Archie after waiting for 3 years. I also got his autograph on his book. I’m so happy!” said Riska, 19 years old, jumping up and down in excitement.

There was a fan that accidentally poked on Archie’s ear. “I touched his arm and shirt, but then I accidentally touched his left ear. But he wasn’t angry about that, instead, he just simply said, hi guys! He was very kind!” said Fiska, 18 years old.

At Ritz Carlton

Around 3.30 pm, the Big Bird bus that carried Archie and the group arrived at Ritz Carlton Hotel Mega Kuningan. Papa Jeff seemed to come in first. And when he was welcomed by the hotel staff, he looked a little surprised, “This is the first time that we are welcomed by the hotel staff,” he said with his eyes lit up.

Archie himself seemed to have a big smile across his face when he walked in to the lobby. While taking the drink offered by the hotel staff, he seemed to admire the design of Ritz Carlton. On his hands, there was a framed photo given by a fan at the airport. When being asked for photograph, Archie just immediately smiled. “It’s nice to meet you,” he said when he first met the Sony Music Indonesia staff.

Day 2: At the Sultan

One day before the concert, Friday (7/15), Archie attended a Pond’s Teen Concert press conference at Sultan Hotel Jakarta. Of course, there were Archangels waiting for Archie at the hotel entrance. And their effort didn’t end in smoke, some of them could met him and actually get his autograph.

Archie was really humble, when he stepped up to the stage, he was surprised by the amount of cameras there. “Wow, so many flash. I didn’t expect to have this many cameras,” he said while standing still and giving a chance for reporters to take photos of him. In this occasion, Archie also said that he was so happy to be able to come to Indonesia and be a part of this Pond’s Teen Concert.

“I’m so happy to be involved, because PTC encouraged teenagers to pursue their dreams and take the spotlight with their idols. That is why in this event I want to give my best to the fans. A few times before I didn’t make it to get here, and finally now I’m here, I’m so grateful,” said Archie. Isn’t he just the sweetest?

Everything for David Archuleta

From dry, to soaking wet with rain, then turned dry again. Wet and muddy field. All of those didn’t stand in the way of Archangels to enjoy Archie’s performance.

Saturday, July 16 2011 became an awaited day for Arch Angels. David Archuleta performed for the first time in Indonesia, on the Pond’s Teen Concert stage to be exact. Since 5 in the evening, there were fans seemed to fill Lapangan D Senayan. The line-up of Pond’s Teen Concert was quite long, from Killing Me Inside, The Sigit, SM*SH, Kotak, Afgan, Nidji, The Changcuters, and J-Rocks.

At around 8.30 pm, there was a noise coming from the Meet and Greet tent. Apparently, Archie was ready to meet the M&G participants. Fans started to be hysterical once they knew Archie was already behind the M&G guardrail.

Wet and Muddy

At 10.30 pm, the Archie band seemed to make some preparation on stage. After a while, Archie showed up with a pink red-ish shirt combined with a white t-shirt and grey jeans, made the audience scream in excitement. The wet and muddy field because of rain didn’t change their spirit to see Archie as close as possible any less.

This guy from Utah opened his concert with Stomping The Roses and The Other Side of Down followed. After these 2 songs, Archie greeted his fans while he stopped to drink water. But only after the third song, A Little Too Not Over You, Archie finally could say a little more.  “I’m so happy to finally be here. It’s awesome to see you guys here tonight,” greeted Archie.

Lucky Audience

Along with his visit to Asia, Archie released an album titled The Other Side of Down: Asian Tour Edition that included his 5 new songs. And that night, Indonesian fans were so lucky because they could hear those songs being performed live for the first time: Love Don’t Hate, Zero Gravity, and Everything and More. Archie said that he dedicated this album special to the Asian fans that always supported him and he hoped the fans would like it.

In the middle of the concert, Archie asked the audience if there were any of them who liked the 80’s music like him. “Sometimes it feels like a lot of people tried to tell you what to do or control you. But always remember that this is your life and if you have a dream, I want you guys to go for it,” Archie said before he covered Everybody Wants to Rule the World from Tears for Fears. Other songs that Archie covered that night were Daniel Beddingfield’s Gotta Get Thru This and Paul McCartney’s Blackbird.

Rain of Gifts

Archie’s performance that night was energetic; he was a half running across the stage while singing, he also reached out his hands to the front row audience at times. At some songs, Archie also asked the audience to jump with him. Even though he seemed to be tired and all sweaty, that didn’t affect his vocal quality. Besides, Archie was also active in responding the audience even with only a smile of a wave with his hand. Archie said he liked Indonesian foods, such as gurame (carp fish) and lemper.

Oh! One other thing that was so sweet; Archie was so neat receiving the gifts from the audience. Alternately, from time to time, he took flowers, gifts, dolls, and stuffed animals that the audience had brought. That was touching.

Mom’s Song

After Zero Gravity, Archie got in to the backstage and the spotlights were partly turned off. Some of the audience got tricked and thought that the concert was over. Not for so long, Mark the keyboardist set the keyboard in the middle of the stage. Archie came out to the stage and said, “Hello Indonesia… I think I’m gonna do a couple more songs for you”.

Archie said the next he was going to do was a cover that always reminded him of his mum. After the intro of A Thousand Miles, the audience became more hysterical than ever and sang along the whole song.  Even though there was a bit of technical problem with the keyboard in the beginning, Archie still looked confident to do the song and he kept smiling.

Crush was the awaited encore of the night. After Crush, Archie walked across the stage, shook hands with the audience, and took the gifts from them for the last time. There was someone in the audience who gave him blangkon (traditional Javanese hat) and Archie wore it at the moment. “Thank you,” he said before finally left the stage.
